About the Author
E. Lexi Abbott is the author of Tire Tales. She came up with the idea to Tire Tales in 2010 when she was sitting in her parent's motorhome, fueling up on one of many of their family RV trips, watching cars go by when she looked to her father and said, "Wouldn't it be cool if tires could talk?" Ever since then her parents encouraged her to make her idea come to life and it finally caught on in 2020 when she wrote, illustrated, and published the first official book of Tire Tales, "Tire Tales: Learning How to Share".
I began my writing journey in the second grade when I preferred to write stories and practice cursive over learning mathematics.
In high school I was awarded for my skills in writing and my thirst for learning more by being nominated by my Language Arts teacher and honored by my school. It was throughout this time that I continued honing my writing skills and decided to major in writing during college.
In my third year of college I self published my first chapbook by the name of “Hidden Voices” on Amazon and had my poem “Poison Bottles” published both in the University of North Georgia’s magazine, The Chestatee Review, as well as in the MyForsyth Magazine in Cumming, Ga.
I worked as a tutor in the Writing Center of my college for four consecutive semesters and as a Writing Fellow, a type of writing tutor, for two consecutive semesters and I graduated on May 4, 2019 with a B.A. in English Writing and Publication with a minor in Graphic Design.
This degree combination has given me the ability to find work as a writer, editor, tutor, and graphic designer.
Since graduating I have participated in the Jasper Holiday Market as a vendor selling my poetry books and writing on-the-spot custom poems for patrons, I have been hired to complete the first round of edits in the book “180 Days” by Patrick D. Gibbs (link), as of February 2020 I have been working as a writing/English tutor for Pre-k through 12 grade levels and I began working on the first book of the Tire Tales series.
On September 15th 2020, I self-published the first Tire Tales book, "Tire Tales: Learning To Share". Since then, I have published three more books: "Tire Tales: Learning About COVID-19", "Tire Tales: Origins", and "Tire Tales: Learning About Germany".
My ultimate goal for Tire Tales is to create support for teachers in the classroom and for parents at home and to help children learn in a fun way that they do not even realize they are learning. I want to help kids learn easily and naturally through play and adventure!
Throughout 2021 I have been attending festivals and markets to sell my on-the-spot poetry, poetry chapbooks, and Tire Tales books. My ultimate goal as a writer is to combine the world in my head with the world around me "One page at a time..."
